Ok, I randomly decided to go look for this one awesome scene from the Saiyuki musical. It's all in Japanese, so i only marginally understand, but it's pretty obvious what's going on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSVXqL1YcPo <-------------THIS is the scene. It's Nii Jyeni and OMG, the actor is SO perfect. He does Nii's malicious childishness so well and his singing voice is PURE sex. My favorite bits are when Kougaiji calls him by name, he goes "Doooooo-mo," and he's got this vicious look on his face, and then Kougaiji yells at him "Tomare!", or "Stop" and Nii (Looking SO terrified) goes, "Kowai, kowai," or "Scary, scary" It's so hilarious. Also, then end, "Ne, Usagi-chan." /flist spam Tags: blather, saiyuki

For isadg , because of the cozz and because I WANTED too. A smidge depressing. Original fic. Very short. It wasn't BAD, she would say. But then again, it wasn't GOOD, either.
It was Christmas Eve and her husband was regaling their three children with the tale of his greatest love. She enough resembled the woman that in spite of all being upwards of 17, they might never guess, but SHE knew. And when their eldest, a shrewd young man she could only remember clinging to her side, eventually wanted to know if she'd ever propositioned her husband by way of MySpace, she'd be forced to confess her sincere hatred of the site.
She'd never known this about her husband, though they'd been married almost 25 years, and when he saw her standing in the doorway, the flash of guilt in his eyes gave him away more than anything else.
She smiled and informed the group that dinner was ready, they should eat. She could feel her heart break just a little bit as she turned away. He might be her husband, loyal, kind, and honest, but this woman she'd only known long enough to feel obliged to attend the funeral of, she would own him until he died.

I bought Twilight. I know, I've been one of it's biggest naysayers, but I haven't actually READ the book. I saw it in the school bookstore and decided to give it the courtesy I would give a fanfic by an author I don't know: If he first few paragraphs were readable, then I'd buy it and read the whole thing. I got three pages into it and argued with myself before buying it. The writing style, itself, isn't terrible. It's very simple and easy to read. I skim more than read, but there isn't much there, so there isn't much to miss. It's not very original, but I didn't expect that, and I have to admit, before the huge craze, the summary on the back of the book appealed to me. I have an unholy love of vampires, after all. I will report as I read and I do sincerely apologize if, in the course of reading, I become a Twilight fan. Vampires ARE my one true weakness. *sigh* Tags: blather, failstamp!, i am an idiot, misery loves company, nowayinfuckinghell, wtfery

Well, flist, my Thanksgiving was busy, fun and full of not!fail. I ate turkey on turkeyday, played D&D the next day, went shopping, ate, and all was awesome. I'm really super-delighted because I have a bunch of new outfits. I went to Burlington Coat factory and got 6 pieces of clothing that will make me 7 outfits, plus a swishy black skirt I found at Fashion Bug, so I am glee at that. I have also decided to start wearing my hair differently, because it's cuter and will prompt me to fucking brush my hair more often. ( Blather )Tags: blather, i am an idiot

I'm so glad I thought up that title earlier. I have had 3 hours of sleep in the last 26 hours. I'm TIRED, and I apologize if this goes off into the land of incoherancy or is in need of a grammar nazi. Anyways, I got packages~! With stuff~! One, I paid a lot of money to get, so it's not as cool. The other, however, had manga and a card and gay pride Sanzo! It showed up, aravistarkheena my darling! Unfortunately, I was NOT able to read most of the postcard, but I got the gist and appreciated the effort, because I DO like kitties. As for the manga? *loves all over you* And I can see that Sanzo has already been well-loved, so I will continue with the lovin'. ;) Pics: We start with gay pride Sanzo--according to Ara, he's had his ribbon for YEARS. Then we have La Esperanza, which I actually read a long time ago, but am NOT objectionable to reading again... Jazz, which I've never heard of, but am eager to start. And finally, Antique Bakery, which has a special place of love in my fangirly heart.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want. - If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: - If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

I don't know if you've seen this video, but it's a Vocaloid video done with Rin and Len Kagamine, opposite gender blond twins in yellow-highlighted school uniforms. I just watched it twice today, and it made me cry both times. I don't even know why, because I never start crying it's a beautiful song with a positively stirring video. You should all watch it. In other news, I finally put pictures up all over my dorm room, so it's bright and festive now. It depresses me that I'm going to have to take them all down in a few months, but it's festive and nice now. God, I'm so tired of impermanence. I mean, Gale and Jim are there for me to go back to occasionally, but that's not MY home. That's THEIR home. I want to have my own home. I want a place that's mine to go to, where I will never be refused. And now I finally understand why I was pushing the fact that I want a place I can kick people out of to my therapist. It's because if I can kick other people out, they can't kick ME out. Tags: blather, i am fucked up

Holy shit, flist--I am doing my uber-awesome research paper on fanfiction and fanart!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Glee with me, people, GLEE WITH ME!! Ok, now that I've calmed down a little bit, time for srs bizness. Edit: Holy crap, the response I got was WAAAAAAAAY bigger than I dared to expect. I have more than enough volunteers and I'm SO grateful, but now, I have to remove my questions, because it's going to take me a frackin' week to read what I have. Thank you so much. Ohemgee, flist, you are getting an exclusive update. I am going to try to write an argumentation-persuasion essay on fanworks. Yes, you read that right. I want to write my srs bizness college essay on fanfiction. lol with me. Now reread the title of this journal. Continue on. But I don't just mean fanfiction, I also mean fanart, doujinshi, movies and tv series based off books, tv series and books based off movies, even books and movies based off tv series. I want to cover the whole gamut. I have no idea if my professor is even going to approve this topic, but she doesn't speak english, so she won't even know what the hell is going on. I've no idea how I want to handle it: if I want to discuss how it benefits the economy, or how it benefits students or people in general or what, but I WANT to do it. If the topic gets approved, I'm going to post what I need, well, EVERYWHERE. Some of you are going to get spammed, I apologize in advance. Fingers crossed the mods don't delete it, because this wonderful LJ-world of fanstuffs is going to be my playground/primary source. I WILL be asking you all to beta it, like, every step of the way. I should also venture off into the land of Vocaloids, because Vocaloids are completely fan-promoted.....but that's effort for if it DOES get approved. So, flist, start thinking of fandoms you got into because of the original works, things you got into because of fanworks (I'm giving ninhursag and instrumentality the evil eye for this and YOU KNOW WHY.) and how YOU think fanworks help/hurt the economy, students, people in general, whatever! *blows kisses all around* I LOVE you guys and (if this does go through--working hard on that if factor) would you help me spread the news when I make the official post? Edit to add: I might have to reduce it to only fanfiction, since that's all -I- do. And lastly....any titles I could pitch at my teacher to help me get this thing approved?
